For anyone who can make it, we'll be having an introductory practice on Saturday, February 07 from 5:30 to 6:30pm at Windermere on the Mount. (Southeast corner of the intersection of Richmond and Windermere, chapel's right inside the front door.)
We'll be covering at least some of the following, depending on who comes out:
1. Reading chant notation.
2. The eight modes.
3. Pronunciation
4. The ordinary chants of the Mass. (Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus and Agnus Dei)
If you have time to look at a few things before then, please check out:
1. An Idiot's Guide to Square Notes, found here: http://ceciliaschola.org/pdf/squarenotes.pdf
2. Mass XI in the online Liber (Also posted. If you only have time to look at one thing, make it the Kyrie) http://www.musicasacra.com/pdf/liberusualis.pdf
Having said all that, please come out even if you haven't been able to look at anything. This will most likely be a very beginning practice. You'll fit in fine. Any questions, email us at london_schola@hotmail.com.
God bless!
